On the Farm

The San Diego Padres have a strong farm system and we want to keep fans updated. Closest to San Diego is our Class A Advanced Affiliate – Lake Elsinore Storm. Our goal is to travel to Lake Elsinore once a month throughout the season to see first-hand how the guys are doing. We were there on Friday, May 10 and have plans to attend the Saturday, May 25 game as well.

The Tucson Padres are our Triple-A Affiliate. Several players have noted that they earn a lot of Southwest Airline miles with being called up and sent back down to Tucson! But it is a pretty quick flight (or a 6 hour drive) so having our AAA team that close is certainly an advantage and provides Josh Byrnes and Buddy Black with some needed flexibility. We hope to get over to Tucson once or twice this season.

Our other affiliates aren’t quite a close to SoCal. The San Antonio Missions are our Double-A Affiliate. The Fort Wayne TinCaps are our Class A Affiliate. Finally, the Eugene Emeralds are our Class A Short Season Affiliate.

As you can see – there will be much to write about. If you have a particular player that you’d like us to research, please let us know … we’d love to have you be part of the discussion!

Go Padres!
