We made a visit to The Diamond on August 26 and decided to would be great to have a follow up visit with Zech Lemond to find out how his season has progressed. The Storm has been struggling this year and are currently 16/47 with a week left in their season. Zech’s stats are slightly more favorable than the team’s with 4 Wins and 10 Losses and a 5.68 ERA.
Most unexpected this year for him was his personal struggles on the mound but felt he had learned from that as well. He has been continuing to work with his Pitching Coach, Glendon Rusch, to strengthen his overall command of his pitches.
Concluding his first season in Lake Elsinore, we wanted to know his thoughts about it. Zech noted that it’s a great little town with loyal fans who have been a real blessing to the team. He also appreciates that he can make a pretty quick trip to San Diego on a day off.
During the off season, Zech will return to his hometown of Houston, Texas to work on his conditioning so he can arrive at Spring Training ready to make the most of it. We look forward to seeing him in Peoria, AZ.
Our initial interview with Zech Lemond is available here.
As noted, the season is coming to a close at Lake Elsinore. Thursday, September 3 will be their last home game of the season. The amazing staff of The Storm have a FIRST-EVER night planned … it is EVERYTHING NIGHT! All promos. All year. One night. You won’t want to miss it.
