Outfielder Nick Torres at the Arizona Fall League

Nick Torres, out of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 4th round of the 2014 by amateur draft. Torres has hit and hit well.  After hitting .254 in the Arizona Rookie League, the Padres promoted Torres to A Fort Wayne to start the 2015 season. While with the Tin Caps, Torres hit .326 with 29 doubles and drove in 40 runs.  The Padres decided to fast tract Torres to A+ Lake Elsinore Storm, where he finished the season hitting a solid .275 with 15 doubles and 30 RBIs.

We had an opportunity to see Torres play for the Peoria Javelinas during a game at Scottsdale Stadium.

The next day we were able to catch with Nick Torres at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick and talked with him about his experience at the Arizona Fall League. We found him to be a very nice young man who loves baseball.  We hope you will enjoy hearing from Padres prospect, Nick Torres.

Be sure to keep an eye on Nick Torres – we’d sure love to see him smacking the ball around at Petco Park!
