Padres Practice Fields in Peoria
You know you are truly at Spring Training when you see the giant baseballs at the practice fields. A bit bittersweet this year as no group shot of friends and family or the annual pic with my son to show how much he has grown since we first started going to Spring Training — but it’s all good.
Once the gear is on the field, you know it’s about time for drills

Bunting Field
There has been a lot of talk about the new Bunting Field that Andy Green wanted installed. Here it is…
I’ve heard several fans complaining that it took away some of their “autograph” real estate. Are you kidding me? Let’s remember the true purpose of Spring Training. Besides, I love that it lets us truly get up close and personal to the drills.
Peoria Sports Complex
Gates open 90 mins before the game so it was time to head in.
I was curious to see the latest renovations as there was a lot of construction when we were here for AZ Fall League. The upper deck expansion in left field looks great!
Diamondbacks at Padres
I purchased my ticket online about a month ago. Nice and comfy club seat, terrific view, bit never would have guessed this was the furtherest thing from an aisle seat!
But still … fantastic view, shaded, and in-seat service (even though I didn’t partake). Met some great Padres fans in the section and had fun talking baseball with them.
3/8 line up for our Padres …
Austin Hedges hit TWO very timely home runs. The first one came in the 2nd inning off of Godley and the other in the 6th off of Loewen. Together, Hedges had an RBI count of FIVE!
The Padres plated 4 in the sixth just after I moved to sit over the dugout, including Hedges’ second homer. I’m sure they were just waiting for me to be closer to the action to tie it up. LOL!
Since it is the managers’ decision – Hale and Green opted to end play on a tie
Looking forward to the next game!! Go Padres!
