Board & Brew at Petco Park

Board & Brew has been a favorite in San Diego since 1979. With nearly a dozen locations in Southern California, we aren’t sure how we have missed them until now. According to their website, they specialize in quality sandwiches and craft beer – and that’s exactly what we experienced at their new Petco Park location.

Specifically, Board & Brew is located in the ballpark real estate previously occupied by Hodad’s … with entrances near Section 109 and 207.

You place your order at the counter, are given a service number, and then your order is delivered to your table. In the upstairs (207) location, they have several tables for 2 or 4, a few very large tables, and seating at the window and at the bar. The lower level (109) has even more seating plus a larger bar area.

We were each interested in the “Baja” sandwiches so Rebecca got the Baja Chicken ($10.50) and Wayne selected the Baja Beef ($13.00).

Each sandwich had a generous portion of meat – cooked to perfection. The toppings included grilled onions, Jalapeno peppers, melted Jack cheese, mayo, tomato, and lettuce. It is served on a toasted French baguette that was truly tender, toasted, and tasty! They are hearty sandwiches that will certainly fill you up!

We also tried the Dirty Potato Chips ($3.00) in Jalapeno flavor – yummy.

Now, on the wall, they have posted that they are known for their secret sauce. Okay… And from their website:

We were skeptical but one taste and we jumped on the bandwagon – it is amazing!

On their website, they offer call-ahead and online ordering  as well as an app … not currently available for the Petco Park location. We have heard there is a possibility that they may add Petco Park so people can order their sandwich and get it at a pick-up window.  That information is not verified and no date on when it “might” happen. They are likely seeking to first work out any bugs with the regular service. We will keep you updated as we hear more.

Texting is now available! Text your order to 858.923.7237 (PADS) and then pick up on the main concourse near section 109, by the escalator. We have also tried the Turkado and Turkey Club – each are excellent.  And be sure to get extra “secret sauce” because it is truly amazing!

We highly recommend Board & Brew at Petco Park as an awesome sandwich option where you can sit down and enjoy good food with your friends and family before a Padres game. We look forward to trying more items on their menu.
