Luis Urias is one of the youngest players in the Cal League coming into 2016.  Signed by the Padres at the age of 16 from the Mexico Red Devils,  he has displayed a solid bat and a great glove whether he is at Second Base, Shortstop or Third Base.  For the 2014 season, the Padres assigned him to the rookie team in Arizona where he batted .310 for the season with 23 runs scored and 14 RBI’s.  2015 saw Luis miss part of Spring Training due to an injury it did not slow down his progress as a player.  Luis hit .355 in a short stint with the A- Tri-City Dust Devils before being promoted and finishing the season in A Fort Wayne, batting a solid .290.

Luis is a prospect to keep an eye on.  His has quick hands and a good arm and has displayed the turn 2 very quickly.  He will be splitting time with Fernando Perez at Second Base, but it won’t be long until we see Luis there full-time.  We hope you enjoy our interview with Luis Urias.
