This is our 3rd installment of Taco Tuesday. We had been encouraged to try the tacos again because the ingredients and process had been improved; therefore, on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 – Wayne sampled the tacos on the first Taco Tuesday of the 2016 season.
Now at first appearance, they have improved the look tremendously over the years! Below is the comparison of 2016 to 2013:
As you can see – the chicken is MUCH improved, lettuce and tomato has been added, and overall it is much fresher than its predecessor.
The original version (circa 2013) was truly not edible and we saw more going into the trash cans than were being eaten. Kudos on the product improvement and seeking to offer value-driven options.
For $1.00, you get what you pay for, but we do appreciate the Padres making attempts to improve Taco Tuesday at Petco Park. It is certainly a great option for the budget conscious and if you have 2-3 of them, you would likely be satisfied with a deal on a $3 meal at the ballpark.
We will be making a trip to Lake Elsinore Storm soon to review their Taco Tuesday and we’ll see how it measures up against the 2016 Padres version.
