John Yandle

While doing research for pictures of former Padres players, I came across a picture of a player I didn’t remember: John Yandle.  Upon researching John’s minor league stats with San Diego, I discovered stories about John being the batting practice pitcher for the San Francisco Giants, a job he has had for over 30 years.  Barry Bonds loved to have Yandle pitch batting practice to him.  From Kevin Mitchell to Buster Posey, John has helped these men prepare for games and has been a part of three World Series Championships in San Francisco.

After contacting John for an interview, I realized that we had met back in 2012 before a Padres vs. Giants game and that John had taken a picture with my son.

We hope you enjoy our Padres360 interview with former Padres pitcher and current Giants Batting Practice Pitcher, John Yandle.
